Raspberries are thought to have originated in Eastern Asia. Demand for fresh dessert raspberries has increased significantly in recent years. Raspberries make good jams, jellies, tarts, flans, pies and sauces but they are also excellent raw. Raspberries are a delicious low calorie summer fruit. They freeze very well and so can be frozen when abundant and used throughout the year. A bowl of raspberries could provide half a daily vitamin C requirement.
