Other commonly used herbs are Basil, Chives, Coriander, Dill, Mint and Sage.
Basil is believed to be one of the oldest of herbs. Chives belong to the same family as shallots, garlic and leek and have a distinct onion taste. They are normally available fresh between June and September. While dried herbs are available all year round, some frozen herbs are now available.
