10 talented executives to be recruited as Bord Bia Origin Green ambassadors
Exciting Master’s degree programme in Business Sustainability under development with UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School
Bord Bia in partnership with the Irish food and drink industry and UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is developing a Master's Degree Programme in Business Sustainability. The recruitment for this initiative is being supported by the Marketing Institute of Ireland. The Origin Green Ambassador Programme will see 10 experienced and talented executives being recruited as Ambassadors to build trade awareness and promote globally Bord Bia’s Origin Green programme by establishing relationships, and deepening existing relations, with the world’s leading food and drink companies.
As part of this initiative, the successful 10 Ambassadors will undertake a 2 year M.Sc. in Business Sustainability at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. The programme will enable the Ambassadors develop world leading expertise in Sustainability and its application to food business development. As part of the programme each Ambassador will also be placed with a global food and drink multinational company.
Origin Green is a unique sustainability programme developed by Bord Bia to internationally demonstrate the commitment of Irish food and drink producers to operating sustainably - in terms of greenhouse gas emission, energy conservation, water management, biodiversity, community initiatives and health and nutrition. It is hoped that by the end of 2014, 75 per cent of Ireland’s food and drinks exports will be from Origin Green companies. Sustainability is a key marketing platform for Ireland internationally and these selected 10 Ambassadors will play an important role in marketing Ireland to overseas companies.
The ideal candidates for this programme would have 5 years commercial experience in the food and drink or marketing sectors and would already hold a primary degree in business, science or languages.
The proposed programme will include a scholarship to cover academic fees and living expenses and will commence in September 2013 as a new stream within the existing Bord Bia Marketing Fellowship Programme.
Applicants will undergo a rigorous selection process and the 10 candidates demonstrating the most potential to add value to the Irish food and drink industry will be selected.
Recruitment will commence shortly and further details are available on www.smurfitschool.ie/origin
