Purpose of the Quality Assurance Scheme
The purpose of this aid is to promote the quality production of beef, pork, chicken, lamb, eggs and horticulture.
Eligibility
In accordance with Art.14.6 of Reg. No.1857/2006, entry to our Quality Assurance Schemes is open to all primary producers who are willing to accept in full, the conditions laid down for the schemes. The conditions for each scheme are available by clicking on the links on the left.
Some general conditions for all the schemes are:
- Aid is in the form of inspection costs and certification costs, in accordance with Article 14.2 (d), (e) and (f) of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1857/2006. (OJ L358 of 16.12. 2006) and is available to participants in Bord Bia’s Quality Assured Schemes for beef, pork, chicken, lamb, horticulture and eggs. No direct payments are made to participants in respect of these activities.
- Aid for the development of standards (including benchmarking against other standards), training programmes for participants in accordance with Article 14.2 (b) and (c) of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1857/2006. (OJ L358 of 16.12. 2006), is available to participants in all Bord Bia’s Quality Assured Schemes including those for edible horticulture, which includes mushroom compost and casing manufacturers. No direct payments are made to participants in respect of these activities.
- No aid will be granted towards the cost of any controls undertaken by the producer on his/her own behalf, or where Community legislation stipulates that the cost of such control is to be met by himself /herself in accordance with Art. 14.4 of Reg. No.1857/2006.
- Aid will be available only by way subsidised services through payment to third parties for the cost of services provided by those third parties, as laid down in Art.14.3 of Reg. No. 1857/2006.
