Bord Bia has nearly 200 personnel (employees, international graduates and interns) working in 16 offices around the globe. In addition we sponsor through our Talent Academy programmes a further 38 post graduate programme participants across 12 markets.

There are 15 international offices for record; London, Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, Milan, Dusseldorf, Stockholm, Warsaw, Moscow, Dubai, Lagos, Singapore, Shanghai, Tokyo and New York.

In response to the Covid-19 global health emergency, Bord Bia has acted rapidly, in line with the organisation’s business continuity plan and Government guidance, to protect colleagues by adhering to all relevant medical advice and to equip colleagues to be able to continue performing their functions in support of Ireland’s food and drinks industry.

Colleague safety is Bord Bia’s number one priority; Bord Bia has acted rapidly to take all necessary precautions to protect staff from harm. In line with HSE advice regarding remote working and physical distancing Bord Bia’s office is closed. Staff have been equipped to work remotely, and daily business is being conducted through virtual team meetings, conference calls and webinars.

Internationally, colleagues based in Bord Bia’s 14 overseas offices are adhering both to local authorities’ guidance and to Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade advice regarding travel, safety and consular support.

Now more than ever, in this moment of global crisis, it is critical that Ireland’s food and drinks industry has access to all the supports Bord Bia can offer. To facilitate this access, in the context of physical distancing requirements, Bord Bia has equipped all its staff to be able to perform their functions and duties remotely.

In preparation for this crisis, Bord Bia has, upgraded and enhanced the organisation’s remote access capabilities including making improvements to its conferencing and video call facilities. Regular contact with staff via webinars, virtual team meetings and email updates will allow Bord Bia to continue its day-to-day work with minimal interruption. Remote working and virtual meetings are, in fact, a daily occurrence for many internationally based Bord Bia colleagues who frequently collaborate with Dublin-based teams.
