Climate change presents multifaceted challenges for the Irish food, drink and horticulture sector. Therefore, Origin Green urges member companies to establish more ambitious emissions targets. These targets will need to go beyond reducing energy-related emissions and include a more comprehensive assessment of their entire carbon footprint, including value chain emissions.
To support companies, the Origin Green team will publish a ‘Pathways to Net Zero’ guidance document on March 11th that provides guidance for members to begin their journey towards net zero emissions. The document will provide a completed emissions target example for an Origin Green Plan or Annual Review submission.
