Origin Green: Biodiversity Webinar
Biodiversity provides a variety of benefits including production of food and water, maintenance of soil fertility, control of climate and disease, nutrient cycling, and crop pollination. Food security is put at risk by the loss of biodiversity, as well as clean air and fresh water.
Origin Green verified members are encouraged to include at least one biodiversity target in their plans under the manufacturing target area. The target can focus on improving biodiversity on their sites and immediate surroundings or assess how they can enhance, integrate or protect existing biodiversity throughout their operations.
On the webinar, to support members to increase the number and ambition of their biodiversity targets, Bord Bia will release a new biodiversity target guidance document on biodiversity target setting. In addition, the NBDC will outline their new partnership with the Origin Green programme and detail their one-to-one biodiversity supports available to Origin Green members.
