Arthian

Arthian provides independent third-party verification of specified information submitted through the Origin Green company programme. This verification relates to the company’s Origin Green sustainability plan and annual progress information. It does not certify individual products or establish that a company or product is environmentally sustainable. After Bord Bia has completed its review, Arthian assesses the company’s Origin Green sustainability plan against the programme requirements and examines the supporting information submitted within the scope of the verification process. The independent, third-party verification aspect of Origin Green is a vital and central element of the programme.

Origin Green Verified Members are required to submit their sustainability plan for annual review. The annual review is designed to report on the progress of the sustainability targets verified members have committed to and outlined in their plan.

After Bord Bia reviews the annual submission, Arthian assesses the reported information and supporting evidence within the scope of the verification process. The assessment considers whether the company has reported progress against the targets and actions set out in its approved plan.

Verification of reported information does not guarantee that every target will be achieved and does not certify the environmental performance of individual products.

Arthian also carry out a number of on-site audits each year, visiting Origin Green companies to verify the updated annual plan, ensuring that the measures outlined have been put into place as described in the plan.
