In 2024, Promise Gluten Free made strong initial progress on its energy target, reducing energy usage per unit output from 0.25 kWh/unit in 2023 to 0.21 kWh/unit. This performance exceeded the milestone target by 19.2%, demonstrating the company’s early commitment to improving operational efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

Three key initiatives supported this reduction. First, the company re-directed steam into the boiler system, improving thermal efficiency and reducing overall energy demand. Second, a thermal imaging review of ovens and electrical panels was conducted to identify and address heat loss across the baking process. These actions reflect a practical and data-driven approach to energy management.

In parallel with its energy initiatives, Promise Gluten Free developed a Scope 1 and 2 emissions baselines in 2024. Establishing this baseline is a critical step in tracking and managing carbon emissions, and it positions the company to set more ambitious reduction targets in future reporting cycles.
