In 2024, Miena’s reported a reduction in plastic film usage per kilogram of product output, decreasing from 0.0028 km/kg in 2023 to 0.0026 km/kg. This performance exceeded the company’s milestone target of 0.0027 km/kg, representing a 10% improvement and reflecting continued efforts to reduce packaging-related environmental impact.

All four of the company’s planned packaging initiatives remain in progress, including the installation of a new flow wrapper on site. This equipment is expected to further optimise packaging efficiency and reduce material usage once fully operational.

Miena’s also maintained its use of 100% FSC-certified cardboard for outer boxes on all outgoing products, consistent with its 2023 performance and in line with its milestone target. This commitment supports responsible sourcing and enhances the recyclability of secondary packaging.
