Programme Background

The International Graduate Programme offers students a Masters in Global Business Practice from UCD Michael Smurfit, while also placing graduates on paid work placements with Bord Bia's network of overseas offices.

The programme offers invaluable market experience to graduates, which can act as a foundation for a successful career in the food sector. The programmes combine on-the-job experiential learning and academic study leading to a UCD Smurfit Business School accredited Masters Qualification.

Who is this programme for?

This programme is designed for recent graduates looking to pursue an exciting career in the international food, drink and agribusiness sector.

 

Programme Structure

  • Graduates with a minimum of a 2.2 undergraduate degree
  • Placement with a Bord Bia office in Dublin or overseas
  • Academic block release in Dublin
  • Internationally-recognised Masters from UCD Michael Smurfit Business School – MSc Global Business Practice (Bord Bia)
  • Full tuition fees paid and bursary towards living expenses awarded
  • Applications welcome from all graduates
  • Outstanding career prospects and professional development
  • Some placements require fluency in a second language

Bord Bia Marketing Fellowship Programme

Programme Background

Bord Bia’s MSc Marketing Fellowship attracts experienced and top-performing graduates capable of growing our client’s business in overseas markets.

This programme combines experiential work experience in international markets, on a paid bursary, while also gaining an International Marketing Masters from UCD Michael Smurfit Business School. All fully paid for.

 

Programme Duration

18 month Programme

 

Who is the programme for?

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including effective presentation skills.
  • The ability to quickly establish effective internal and external working relationships with key people across different services/functions.
  • Strong commercial acumen - the ability to identify opportunities and to follow these through to completion by working with others and discovering the best way to achieve results.
  • Project management skills – the ability to schedule and manage time and resources; maintaining a project management plan for communication and review at all times;
  • A strong passion for pursuing a career in the Food & Drink industry.

 

Programme Structure

  • Overseas assignments on behalf of Irish food, drink and horticulture companies
  • Academic block release and professional skills training in Ireland
  • Internationally-recognised Masters with UCD Smurfit Business School - MSc International Marketing Practice
  • Full tuition fees paid and bursary towards living expenses awarded
  • Applications welcome from graduates with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience, from all disciplines/roles
  • Outstanding career prospects and professional development
  • Fluency in a second language is desirable but not essential

 

Placement of participants will be selected from Bord Bia locations which may include Dublin, New York, London, Dubai, Shanghai, Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, Milan, Düsseldorf, Stockholm and Warsaw. A sample of locations are shown and are subject to confirmation.

Bord Bia Origin Green Ambassador Programme

Programme Background


In a world of challenged resources, the case for sustainability has become largely self-evident. Within the food industry, it is now recognised as a priority issue. Since its launch in 2012, Origin Green has put the Irish food and drink industry to the fore of this global conversation.

 The Origin Green Ambassador Programme takes 10 Ambassadors who are passionately committed to the better management of our planet’s resources, on a 23-month journey towards an MSc in Business Sustainability. Placed with global businesses that are playing leading roles in sustainability development, Origin Green Ambassadors have quickly become trusted partners and have taken leadership roles in the development of important initiatives. In doing so, their engagement provides an invaluable opportunity to share the vision of Origin Green, and the commitment of Irish food and drink companies to it, with senior leadership within these organisations.

Ambassadors receive a Masters in Business Sustainability from UCD Michael Smurfit Business School. While also gaining huge international experience with large multinational Food & Drink Organisations.

MSc. in Design Innovation (Food)

Programme Background

We are delighted to announce the launch of an exciting new programme that is designed to support and promote consumer-focussed innovation and NPD in the Irish Food and Drink Sector, based on the principles of Design Thinking

This programme offers those interested in cutting edge marketing and innovation learnings the opportunity to gain a Master qualification in Insights & Innovation, while being placed in an Irish Food & Drink company. Helping develop and revise company culture, idea generation and marketing practices.

 
Bord Bia has currently teamed up with Maynooth University to develop this MSc. in Design Innovation (Food). Over the coming year we will be looking for 10 graduates named Innovation Champions who want to develop a career in the food and drink industry to come on board. We will also be seeking food and drink industry partners who will host a Champion and benefit from the participant’s expertise to help develop their Innovation capabilities.

Who is the Programme for?

  • A 2.1 undergraduate degree or extensive and relevant experience
  • 2/3 years work experience, ideally in the food, beverage or innovation sector
  • A demonstrable passion for innovation and creativity and a desire to forge a career in insight-led innovation and commercialisation
  • A genuine ambition to establish or develop their career in Food, Beverage and/or Horticulture
  • Excellent presentation and influencing skills and a capacity to enthuse others about your ideas is a must

 msc in supply chain

 

MSc. in Supply Chain & Procurement

Programme Background

Our research commissioned post the Brexit announcement highlighted supply chain as a key area of venerability for the Irish Food & Drink sector.  In response to this Bord Bia launched our Supply Chain & Procurement programme in partnership with UCD Michael Smurfit Business School. 

This programme sees graduates placed in International retail or foodservice companies, in markets such as the UK, France and the US to name but a few. Graduates receive a Masters in Supply Chain & Account Management.

Programme Duration

18 months 

Who is the Programme for?

  • Have a min. of 3 years’ professional experience, ideally including a role(s) in: supply chain, commercial, retail management, business development/ sales; client management; marketing; key account management; project management; communications; consultancy; or similar;
  • Hold a primary degree with a 2.1 honours result from a recognised/ relevant third-level institution;
  • Be committed to relocating overseas for approximately 15 months;
  • Be committed to a career in the food industry.
  • Have fluency in a second language (not an absolute requirement).
