Marketing supports to SME’s active in the marketing and processing of fishery and aquaculture products

Purpose of the Aid

The purpose of the aid is to assist SMEs to develop new markets for fisheries and aquaculture products in accordance with Article 45 of Regulation 2022/2473 and Article 26 of Regulation (EU) No 2021/1139.

Eligibility

The aid will take the form of marketing and capability supports by Bord Bia to SMEs and is available to all SMEs companies engaged in the processing and marketing of fishery and aquaculture products.

The aid will be targeted at SMEs to find new markets and improve the conditions for the placing on the market of fishery and aquaculture products, particularly species with marketing potential.

 

An SME (micro, small and medium) company is defined in Annex 1 of Commission Regulation (EU) No. 651/2014 (OJ L187 of 26.6.2014). 
(A micro, small or medium-sized enterprise (‘SMEs’) is an enterprise which employs fewer than 250 persons and which has an annual turnover not exceeding EUR 50 million, and/or an annual balance sheet total not exceeding EUR 43 million.)

Type of Scheme /Level of Aid

Support will be provided towards the costs of third party expertise to assist in the development of initiatives that provide strategic focus to the SME to develop new markets and channels for fisheries and aquaculture products. These initiatives may include marketing activities such as research, innovation, brand development, marketing activation including website, e-commerce and other digital marketing activities.

Aid Intensity

This is not a grant scheme, rather aid at a maximum level of 50% of eligible costs is available to SMEs for eligible activities carried out for them by third party experts. Activity must be pre-approved.
