Irish Craft Beer
Ireland has a long and celebrated heritage in brewing. Throughout history, Irish people have created a range of beautifully crafted beers, but up until recently this heritage was maintained only by a handful.
In 2012, Ireland had 12 craft breweries. Today there are over 75 craft breweries on the island of Ireland bringing incredibly high quality, hand crafted beer to the Irish market and beyond. These breweries create some of the highest quality beers in the world, but they are so much more than that.
The Irish craft beer industry is about connection, living and adventure. There are many beautiful beers created on our own doorstep. Explore the range of Irish craft beer on offer and support your local brewery. There is a craft beer for every different taste and preference!

Styles of Beer
The growth of the Irish craft beer industry has brought with it an excellent range of beer styles, but this can be overwhelming if you don’t know what style of beer is for you! To the general population beer means Lagers and Craft beer means Pale ales, but this is not quite right. Craft beer refers to the production methods of how a beer is created. Craft beer is really about hand crafted, high quality beer and the styles created by breweries vary.
There are 4 main styles of beers that you will come across: Lagers, Stouts, Ales and Wheat beers.
