Ballinrostig Homestead
Ballinrostig Organic Cheese is owned and run by husband and wife team, Stephen Bender and Michele Cashman. Stephen was steeped in and learned his trade within the cheese making culture of the Netherlands. He also ran a successful goat’s cheese making business in both the Netherlands and Ireland.
In 2014, Stephen and Michele renovated and moved into Michele's family home in the village of Ballinrostig, in beautiful East Cork, transforming the garage into a purpose built dairy. They run their business based on what is important to them, that is; the environment, and local community. They converted their entire cheese range to Organic in 2018. All of our cheese is made from Jersey Cow milk.
