Bally Goat Cheese was established in January 2019 by the Leahy Family. They started off milking goats in October 2017 on their family farm in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick. They were supplying Cordal Goats Cheese with their milk. When Cordal Goats Cheese decided to cease production, it was then that the Leahy Family decided to start this new venture. This is the only goat farm producing milk in Co. Limerick for commercial purposes.
Inspired by the cheeses of Northern Italy, Bally Goat Cheese is handmade in Co. Kerry. Their cheese has a smooth and creamy texture. There are no additives or preservatives in their cheese. Their soft goat cheese is available in 3 flavours - Original, Honey & Chilli and Garlic & Thyme
The herd of goats are regularly exhibited at agricultural shows across the country. Over the past number of years, the goats have won numerous championships.
