Regulation of Lobbying

The Regulation of Lobbying Act 2015 (Designated Public Officials) Regulations 2024 (S.I. No. 424/2024) (the “Act”) is designed to provide information for the public on the identity of those communicating with designated public officials on specific policy or legislative matters.

To meet the requirements of section 6(4) of the Regulation of Lobbying Act 2015, and to assist the Commission in maintaining an up-to-date list of Designated Public Officials (“DPOs”) and a central repository/list of relevant bodies, specified public bodies are required to publish and maintain details of their DPOs on their website.

The purpose of this is:

  1. to allow members of the public identify those persons who are designated public officials; and
  2. as a resource for lobbyists filing a return to the Register of Lobbyists who may need to source a Designated Public Official’s details

Bord Bia’s DPOs are the Chief Executive Officer and the Chairperson of the Board.
