UK Economic Outlook, Impact on Trade & Consumer Sentiment with Covid-19 and Brexit Perspective

As the Irish food, drink and horticulture industry has demonstrated an enormous ability to absorb and respond to the shocks and stresses presented by Covid-19, it is clear a common understanding has emerged that the ‘new normal’ is utterly different to life before Covid-19.

This UK focused webinar will be hosted by Bord Bia’s Estelle Alley, GB Market Specialist, and Klara Lynch, GB Insight & Planning Specialist.

Estelle will outline the most recently reported economic outlook for the UK market and the impact on trade across Retail and Foodservice channels. She will also discuss the implications for Irish manufacturers and their UK Customers through the lens of Covid-19 and as businesses prepare for the new Brexit landscape.

Klara will present a summary of the latest Bord Bia Thinking House research on GB Edition of the Future Proofing Toolkit, which tracks and traces behavioural shifts that have been identified since the start of restrictions around Covid-19. Understanding these changes will be key to developing a robust strategic response to the Covid-19 crisis and beyond. Klara will also present a summary of the most recent Brexit Consumer Pulse results, from May 2020, which tracks consumer sentiment in the UK to understand Brexit’s impact on perceptions and attitudes towards the Republic of Ireland and Ireland’s main food & drink categories.
