Customs & Controls Webinar
Following the UK Government announcement on 15 December 2021 to delay the introduction of new border controls due on 1 January 2022 for goods entering Great Britain from the island of Ireland, we have decided to postpone the webinar, “Trading with GB - Customs and Controls”, to Thursday, 3rd February at 11am-12.30pm.
For Irish suppliers this means the full customs declarations and customs controls for all products, and the pre-notification for movements of SPS goods which were to be introduced on 1 January 2022 will not be required for imports into Great Britain from Ireland and Northern Ireland. These requirements will still be introduced for imports from the rest of the EU. Further information on the new timelines for the island of Ireland are to be announced.
Hosted by Bord Bia, this webinar will provide a practical and holistic view of the custom and control measures that food and drink companies need to operate to to export their product to GB. Damien Flynn, Head of Brexit Unit at Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, will present on known SPS requirements and IPAFFS notifications. Almost one year on from customs controls, Ray Ryan, Assistant Principal in the Customs Division at Department of Revenue Commissioners, will recap on requirements and compliance. Finally, logistics and supply chain has been one of the most challenging areas for companies over the last 18 months which will also be addressed by an expert speaker. There will also be an opportunity for Q&A at the end.
