Strong negotiation skills are a requirement for anyone in a commercial role, whether looking to secure new business or to manage ongoing terms with a customer. You may be looking to secure, or retain, a price increase, to grow a listing or to secure better terms. Developing skills and techniques to manage difficult customer conversations is a must, and knowing how best to prepare for these conversations will optimise your chances of success. Negotiation skills continue to be as critical as ever.

Bord Bia’s Client Capability team is once again offering our hugely popular group-based ‘Negotiation Fundamentals: Practical Skills Development Programme’ to prepare commercial executives for difficult customer conversations. This course has been developed for food and drink industry participants with a minimum of 2-3 years in a commercial role, providing essential skills to optimise your selling and negotiation performance with customers.

The course combines best practice theory and practical learning through pre-course online content, virtual tutorial workshop and in-person experiential role play training. Malachy O’Connor and Mark Francis of Uspire Ltd will partner with Bord Bia on the delivery of this programme, leveraging their industry experience from both the buyer and supplier sides of the negotiating table.

Participants must be able to attend both online and in-person sessions and are required to complete course pre-work and a short participant survey ahead of participation. (These will be sent to you once your registration is approved and your place is confirmed).

Note: This training is available to Bord Bia client company participants only.
