Deadline Approaches to Register Your Food Facility in the US – We Provide the Guide

Are you exporting to the US?

Your food facility registration is due for renewal. The 2020 Biennial Registration Renewal Period begins October 1, 2020 and concludes on December 31, 2020. Please remember that this renewal process repeats every two years, if you wish to set a reminder.

 

 

To renew your registration ask yourself the following questions:

 

Why?

Section 415 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) [21 U.S.C. 350d] requires food facilities to register with FDA to renew such registrations during this period.

How?

You can access and fill out the form at http://www.access.fda.gov/. Please note that you must first create or have an existing FDA account to access the module and submit your renewal.

The form takes 15 mins to fill out and 100% free of charge

Conditions:

  •  If you register OR updated your food facility before October 1, 2020, you must renew your registration before December 31, 2020 and provide them with any updated information, if applicable.

 

  •  As a reminder, if you are the new owner of a registered food facility, the previous owner is required to cancel the food facility’s registration within 60 calendar days of the change of ownership and you must re-register the facility reflecting the new ownership.

 

  • Also, if you have submitted a proof document of your facility before October 1, 2020, you must re-submit your attestation before December 31, 2020.Please re-submit this document electronically via the Qualified Facility Attestation Module also at http://www.access.fda.gov/. Please ensure that your registration is renewed before re-submitting this document.

How to obtain your DUNS number

Irish companies that are registered with the Companies Registration Office (CRO) are automatically assigned a DUNS number. You can obtain your DUNS number by visiting the Irish section of the D&B website here: http://europe.dnb.com/find-my-DUNS/ (Dun & Bradstreet Customer Services, 2020)
