Co. Cork's Castlemartyr Resort Purchased by Owners of Co. Kerry's Sheen Falls Lodge and Dublin's Trinity Townhouse Hotel

Co. Cork's Castlemartyr Resort has been purchased by the owners of Co. Kerry's Sheen Falls Lodge and Dublin's Trinity Townhouse Hotel, Singapore-based Doctor Stanley Quek and Peng Loh. Castlemartyr Resort'’s hotel opened in 2007 as a Capella-branded 109-bedroom property, and the resort employs 250 full and part-time staff in high season. A major investment programme is planned to refurbish the resort's common areas, bedrooms and grounds, starting with the manor house to add contemporary comforts to its interiors.
Wedding numbers rise to 100 after 5 August

The number of people permitted to attend weddings will rise to 100 after 5th August, according to Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney. Minister Coveney said the decision was made at Cabinet "in principle" and that Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly will now look at the detail. Minister Coveney said the Government had made "an exception" for weddings, but that Government's message remains one of "caution". However, he said, "There is cause for optimism" given that the number of cases related to the Delta variant is dropping in other countries such as Scotland, England and the Netherlands
