Camile Thai secures former ASK Italian in Twickenham for seventh London site
Propel – 09.12.2020
Dublin-based healthy food delivery company Camile Thai is to strengthen its London portfolio with an opening in Twickenham. The company has secured the former ASK Italian in The Green, which is being refitted for its seventh site in the capital. UK General Manager Jonathan Dockrell said: “The new franchised branch will add to our growing chain in the south west London area. The pandemic has accelerated people’s adoption of food delivery and with more than ten years’ experience in the sector, we have hit an inflection point and are strongly positioned to scale.” Camile, which operates about 35 sites, said it has ambitious plans to develop its franchise further in the south east of England, with some branches in its network exceeding €2m in sales per annum.
‘Wet pubs’ claim just €9.5m out of €79m in Covid relief funding
Independent – 04.12.2020
The Government will pay out an average of just €1.6m per week for lost turnover of so-called 'wet pubs' while they have to remain closed for Covid, according to new Revenue figures. Wet pubs, which have had to endure the tightest restrictions for the longest periods during the pandemic, account for just €9.5m of the €79.3m in claims made so far under the Covid-19 Relief Support Scheme (CRSS), the figures show. The sector will remain indefinitely shut as restaurants, cafes and bars serving food reopen to customers under modified Level 3 rules, meaning wet pub owners will remain eligible for ongoing payments.
