Organisers of Bord Bia’s Bloom, which takes place in the Phoenix Park, Dublin this bank holiday weekend have said that the festival is open for business, despite the wet weather overnight.
Visitors should continue to avail of free shuttle bus transfers every 20 minutes from Heuston Station to the festival. Additional hard surface parking has been made available for those planning to drive to the event and as traffic arrives onsite organisers and Gardai will be directing visitors to optimum parking spaces.
Bloom is an all weather event and offers 3 acres of covered marquee space, 2.3km of trackway and 1,200 square metres of walkway linking the main features which include 27 show-gardens, 100 Irish food and drink producers, 40 nurseries, and 160 retailers.
Met Eireann says conditions should improve later this afternoon with drier weather this evening and overnight and most areas.
A full and detailed traffic plan for the all the weekend activities in and around Dublin is available on the Garda web site www.garda.ie
