On-farm audits continue

Bord Bia audits under the Sustainable Dairy Assurance Scheme (SDAS) and the Sustainable Beef and Lamb Assurance Scheme (SBLAS) continue to take place on-farm. In person, on-farm audits are an integral and necessary component of the audit process and are essential to maintain the schemes' international accreditation.

However, farmers can request a remote audit if they are close contacts or consider themselves high risk. Please contact the Bord Bia Helpdesk if you have queries about an upcoming audit. 01 5240410.

Blended audits

As Covid-19 remains in our communities, Bord Bia is aiming to reduce the time spent on-farm during the audit, through a new ‘blended audit’.  The system is being developed and will be ready by February.

Blended audits will be performed in two parts. First the farmer uploads supporting evidence (such as remedy usage records) through a secure portal to be audited remotely. This is then followed up with an on-farm audit of the facilities, lasting approximately 30 minutes. The blended audit will use the same portal developed for the fully remote audit, which most members will be familiar with.
