A group of influential French food bloggers were given a real taste of the superior quality of Irish food this week. During a two day visit to Ireland, organised by Bord Bia, the French bloggers, who have a combined monthly readership of over 1 million, got a flavour of the Irish farm to fork experience.
Assisting to bring this experience to life was up and coming celebrity chef and Irish food blogger Donal Skehan, author of top Irish food blog –Good Mood Food. Donal accompanied the bloggers to 'Fieldstown Farm' in Kilsallaghan Co. Dublin, a Bord Bia quality assured beef and lamb farm.
The Bord Bia food also centre was a hive of activity following the visit when Fieldstown Farm lamb was served for lunch. The bloggers rolled up their sleeves and got really involved in the cook up of some traditional Irish dishes such as soda bread, champ and colcannon.
Bernadette Byrne, Meat Specialist, Bord Bia France, who travelled with the group said the feedback from the group was amazing. "Not only did the bloggers discover the quality of Irish food, but they will now bring this positive experience to an audience of over a million people" she added.
