Bord Bia welcomes the results of the EU Commission’s report on horsemeat DNA in beef products published earlier today. The quality reputation of Irish beef has remained undiminished throughout what proved to be a highly challenging period. This is evidenced further by the industry’s strong export performance over the last quarter, with sales more than 12% ahead of 2012 levels due to a combination of higher volumes and prices up by the order of 5%.
