The workshop follows the releae of the 2016 census on the organic sheep meat sector in Ireland. The meetings will take place in the McWilliam Park Hotel, Claremorris, Co. Mayo (Tuesday 29th November) and in the Killeshin, Portlaoise, Co. Laois (Tuesday 6th December), meetings will start at 8pm.
The purpose of these workshops will be to outline the census findings, the market opportunities and market requirements and explore initiatives which will assist producers in building a critical mass of finished organic lambs for the export market. Representatives from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Teagasc, organic certifying bodies, sheepmeat processors and Bord Bia will be in attendance.
