Bord Bia launches new Barbecue information campaign

Bord Bia today launched a new barbecue information campaign for the growing number of Irish consumers taking to al fresco dining for family meals and entertaining over the summer months.

As the outdoor eating trend continues, the barbecue has become an essential summer activity with one in three households owning a barbecue grill. The barbeque season is also becoming longer – beginning as early as April and ending as late as October.

Bord Bia booklets and leaflets containing innovative recipes and tips will be available from butchers' counters nationwide bringing a variety of new ideas to this seasonal trend.

Teresa Brophy, Ireland Manager, Bord Bia commented "Barbecues are a great way to unwind in the evenings or at weekends and we want to encourage people to try new recipes to really enjoy the wonderful Irish meat and poultry which is produced here.

A selection of Bord Bia recipes including "Beef Burgers with Spicy Red Pepper Salsa", "Discover the Magic of Barbecued Pork" and "Barbecued Lamb Cutlets" together with Bord Bia safety and cooking tips attached.
