The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global framework of 17 goals aimed at addressing urgent environmental, social, and economic challenges by 2030, promoting prosperity, protecting the planet, and ensuring peace and equity for all people worldwide.

  • Origin Green member companies are playing their part in the climate emergency by establishing energy reduction initiatives, finding ways to: Reduce their water usage, produce food and drink as sustainable as possible and protect and enhance marine life.
  • From 2014 to 2019 1,144,536 trees were planted to enhance biodiversity. Origin Green verified seafood producers are using the BIM sustainability programmes to ensure necessary protection of marine life. A variety of sustainable land management practices and biodiversity measures are used in order to protect the ecosystems.
  • Origin Green farmers implement procedures to: Reduce and monitor water use and quality, and to follow accredited schemes based on sustainability.
  • Carbon footprint reports and Carbon Navigator tool Using farm carbon footprint reports and the Carbon Navigator tool to help farmers understand where they can improve their environmental performance.

Decent Work and Economic Growth – Promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all. Reduced Inequalities – Reduce inequality within and among countries. Sustainable Cities and Communities – Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.

The UN SDGs aim to ensure that all human beings can enjoy prosperous, fulfilling lives and that economic, social and technological progress occurs in harmony with nature.

  • Farm safety risk assessments They are also required to carry out farm safety risk assessments to ensure the safety of farm employees.
