Microfinance Ireland
Microfinance Ireland is a not for profit lender which is government funded that provides loans from €2,000 up to €25,000 to small businesses who may be finding it difficult to access finance from Banks and other commercial lending providers.
Loans can be used for broad range of purposes including business set-up, working capital and/or business expansion.
Criteria for Small Business to work with:
Any micro-enterprise that meets the following criteria is eligible to apply to Microfinance Ireland:
•Any start-up or established business with fewer than 10 full-time employees
•Less than €2m business turnover per annum
•Is creating/retaining a minimum of one full-time job within the business
Supports for Small Food and Drinks Businesses:
In addition to the loan package, approved loan applicants are offered post-approval mentoring which is delivered through their Local Enterprise Office. This is an important support for successful loan applicants in helping them develop their business acumen and supports the sustainability of their business in the longer term
Funding for Small Food and Drinks Businesses:
Microfinance Ireland provides four loan packages depending on the trading stage (i.e Not trading yet, Start-Up trading less than 18months, or Established) and the financial requirements of the business.
